Jose Ferrer had a strong outing as the Chicago Whales defeated the Gotham Gold
Gloves by a score of 9 to 7 at West Side Park.
In the bottom of the 2nd inning Chicago scored 5 runs when they had 3 base
hits. The highlight belonged to Jahmai Jones who made the home-town crowd a
happy bunch when he launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam
homerun. Chicago ended up with 12 hits for the game while Gotham had 8.
The victory went to Ferrer(6-1) who went 3 innings, allowing no runs. Jake
Junis got the save, his 3rd. Framber Valdez(11-10) absorbed the loss.
