Andy Pages had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Streator Reds topped the Chicago
Whales by a score of 3 to 2 at Streator Park.
Streator scored all of the necessary runs in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs.
After an out was recorded, Sal Frelick initiated the scoring spurt when he
drew a walk. Matt Shaw stepped into the batter's box and he drew a walk.
Willson Contreras then drew a walk to load the bases. Pedro Pages was the
next batter, but he struck out. Spencer Torkelson came up to bat and drew a
walk which plated a run. Pages added to the uprising and stroked a one-base
hit accounting for two more runs. Pages took second on the throw. Chicago
had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
Javier Assad(2-1) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Tony
Santillan recorded his 12th save. The losing pitcher was Fernando Cruz(1-3)
in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning allowing no hits and 3 walks.
