Third baseman Casey Schmitt knocked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Brady Singer
mowed down 10 Tombstone batters as the Burbank Tigers bested the Tombstone
Huckleberries 7 to 0 at Burbank Park.
Schmitt enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'
in the 1st inning and bombed a two-run dinger in the 5th inning. Burbank had
10 hits for the night while Tombstone had 5.
Singer(11-5) went 7 innings allowing no runs for the win. Chris Bassitt(10-5)
was tagged with the loss. Singer was pleased with his performance. He
noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my location was
right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always helps me.
Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'
