The Palatine Cubs got by the Vernon Hillbillies at Palatine Park. The final
score was 3 to 1.
Palatine came up with all the runs they needed in the 7th inning when they
tallied 3 runs on 3 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Jackson Merrill
who brought a roar from the partisan Palatine Park fans when he ripped a
base-knock plating two runs. Palatine and Vernon each finished the night
with 6 hits.
The win went to John Schreiber(1-2) who allowed no runs in 2 innings.
Schreiber got relief help from Tyler Kinley who gained credit for his 5th
save. Parker Messick(1-2) was hit with the loss. While he was the losing
pitcher, he still struck out 9 batters in 6 innings.
