The Tombstone Huckleberries toppled the Vernon Hillbillies by a 6 to 2 score
at The O.K. Corral.
In the 7th inning Tombstone went on top for good scoring 2 runs utilizing 4
base hits. Zach Neto kicked off the action when he slapped a single. Neto
got a good lead and stole second. After an out was recorded, Myles Straw
then lined a single. Tombstone continued their aggressive style with another
stolen base. Randy Arozarena stepped into the box and was hit by a pitch.
One out later, Brandon Lowe came up and he stroked a one-base hit plating a
run. Giancarlo Stanton came next and he stroked a base-hit scoring the final
run of the inning. Tombstone finished with 10 hits while Vernon ended up
with 5.
Chris Bassitt(10-4) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 7 innings.
Bassitt got help from David Bednar who earned his 13th save. Ryan Gusto(5-4)
ended up with the loss in relief. Tombstone knocked him around a bit, as he
gave up 4 runs in 2 innings.
