9,099 fans were treated to a fine game at West Side Park as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Tampico Stogies won by the
slimmest of margins, 8 to 7.
Chicago was unable to recover after Tampico went ahead in the top of the 7th
inning as they scored 2 runs on 2 base hits. The key at-bat was by Wenceel
Perez who silenced West Side Park as he clubbed a two-run home run. Jack
Perkins(4-0) got help from Aroldis Chapman who pitched great and earned his
36th save.
Griffin Jax(1-2) was tagged with the loss in relief. He gave up 2 hits and no
walks in 1/3 of an inning.
