Logan Gilbert racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts and Mike Trout
slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI at Truist Park as the potent Caracas Leones
beat the Illinois Patriots 9 to 6.
Gilbert(12-1) pitched well for Caracas in their victory. He surrendered 4
hits and 3 walks in 5 innings and was touched for 2 homeruns. Illinois was
out-hit by Caracas, 14 hits to 11.
Steven Matz earned his 7th save. Shane Baz(7-10) was tagged with the loss.
He allowed 3 homeruns in 4 and 2/3 innings of work.
'Everything felt great' Gilbert said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could
