In a thrilling finish the Aarlington Aardvarks won in dramatic fashion coming
back to beat the Texas Flood by the count of 5 to 2.
Aarlington scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning as they
scored 4 runs on 3 base hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Adolis
Garcia who brought a roar from the partisan Aarlington Field fans when he
lofted a three-run 'big-fly'. Aarlington had 12 hits for the night while
Texas had 9.
The winning pitcher was Kyle Leahy(5-4) who allowed no runs in 2 innings.
Mitch Spence(3-7) was charged with the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning
giving up 2 hits and 1 walk.
'Now that is what I call fun! I just love baseball, especially games like
this, of course,' Steve Linke offered. 'Everyone at the stadium had a great
time - did you see the fans go wild there at the end?!'
