Brad Lord had an impressive outing and right fielder Kerry Carpenter went yard
and had 3 RBI as the Nimrod Numnuts topped the Tombstone Huckleberries by a
score of 8 to 2 at The O.K. Corral.
Tombstone was unable to recover after Nimrod went ahead in the 3rd inning
scoring a single run. After an out was recorded, Ernie Clement doubled. One
out later, Blake Snell then uncorked a wild one that found its way to the
backstop scoring the run. That was all the offense they were to need. For
the game Nimrod out-hit Tombstone 8 to 3.
Lord(9-3) allowed 2 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory. The loss was
charged to Snell(3-4). He pitched 4 innings giving up 3 hits and 5 walks.
