Nolan Gorman had 2 base hits as the Palatine Cubs won in dramatic fashion over
the Illinois Patriots by a score of 5 to 4 at Palatine Park.
Palatine erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 4
runners on 5 hits. Palatine had 10 hits for the night.
The win was credited to Drew Pomeranz(2-1) who went 2 innings allowing no
runs. Brad Keller(1-4) was the loser in relief. His ERA increased from 5.40
to 6.75 as he allowed 4 runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Pomeranz and Gorman were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the
great come from behind victory. As Tony Calabrese noted, 'A win like this
one can do wonders for a team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the
fans, the players - even you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen
runs!'
