The Nimrod Numnuts toppled the Columbus Crowd by a 5 to 1 score at Sutter
Health Park.
Nimrod came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 8th inning
when they scored 4 runs on 2 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by
Ian Happ who made the Nimrod fans a happy lot when he caught a hold of a
fastball for a Grand Slam homerun. The game was a scoreless duel until the
6th inning.
Hayden Birdsong(2-1) allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. The losing pitcher was Shawn Armstrong(6-4) in relief. Nimrod
continued their winnings ways improving their record to 59-50. They are 8-2
in their last ten games. Columbus has a record of 66-43 after the loss.
