Tarik Skubal whiffed 10 batters and second baseman Brayan Rocchio hit 2
doubles and scored 3 times as the Columbus Crowd defeated the Woodfield
Roadkyll by a score of 7 to 3 at The Horseshoe.
Skubal(13-3) earned his pay with a solid performance for Columbus. He went 6
and 1/3 innings and surrended up 8 hits and 3 walks. Columbus had 13 hits
for the night.
Skubal got help from Devin Williams who was credited with his 22nd save.
Jacob Lopez(0-1) was given the loss. Everyone seemed to enjoy the
performance of Skubal - except Woodfield. Mike Gahalla lamented, 'He just
was 'on' tonight. He was keeping our guys off balance all game. A fine game
by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a fun game for the hometown fans -
unfortunately we were the visitors!'
