Catcher Salvador Perez had 2 base hits and Keegan Akin went 3 solid innings at
Streator Park where the Streator Reds beat the Tampico Stogies 6 to
5.
 
Streator set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring 3 runs using 2
hits.  After an out was recorded, Freddie Freeman jump-started the rally as
he drew a walk.  Seiya Suzuki got his turn next, but he was a strikeout
victim.  Perez then hit a single.  Spencer Torkelson followed next and he
launched a three-run homer.  Tampico had a chance in the 9th but they came up
short.  
 
Akin(3-6) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Matt Brash earned the
save, his 3rd.  Hunter Brown(8-7) was the loser.  Wth the win Streator now
has a record of 31-72.  With this loss, Tampico has a 5-5 record of late,
63-40 overall.
