Tarik Skubal struck out 10 batters as the Columbus Crowd defeated the Texas
Flood by the score of 2 to 1 at Lawton Stadium.
Skubal(11-3) earned his pay with a solid performance for Columbus. He
surrendered 5 hits and no walks in 6 and 1/3 innings. The pitchers took over
after the 3rd inning as neither team was able to score again.
Devin Williams recorded the save, his 18th. Nick Lodolo(5-6) was tagged with
the loss. Despite losing, he struckout 8 Columbus batters in 5 innings.
Skubal didn't realize how many strikeouts he was racking up. When told he had
10 he was obviously surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew that I had a decent
total, but I didn't think I had K'd that many. Say, that's pretty good,
isn't it?'
