Left fielder Ceddanne Rafaela hit one over the fence and had 4 RBI as the
Vernon Hillbillies defeated the Woodfield Roadkyll in 10 innings by the score
of 8 to 7 at Long Grove CG.
Both teams were tied at 7 runs apiece after nine innings. Vernon won it in
the 10th inning. Rafaela reached on an error. Rafaela got a good lead and
stole second. Victor Scott then drew a walk to load the bases. After an out
was recorded, Jared Triolo came to the plate and slapped a base-hit making
Vernon the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Vernon had
11 hits for the night.
Reid Detmers(3-5) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Andres
Munoz(0-2) suffered the loss in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing
1 hit and 1 walk.
