Dylan Cease retired 11 batters on strikeouts as the Nimrod Numnuts defeated
the Vernon Hillbillies by a score of 4 to 2 at Sutter Health
Park.
Cease(5-4) pitched a solid game. He surrendered 3 hits and 2 walks in 6
innings and surrendered 2 'round-trippers'. The Vernon batters didn't put up
a fight in the 9th.
Cease got relief help from Garrett Cleavinger who gained credit for his 4th
save. The losing pitcher was Erick Fedde(2-3). Cease was jubilant in the
hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out there. The fans gave me a lot
of support as did my teammates. We got the victory and I'll sure take 11
strikeouts anytime!'
