Designated hitter Francisco Alvarez had 2 base hits as the Gotham Gold Gloves
topped the Chicago Whales by a score of 3 to 2 at Edsel Stadium.
Gotham did all the necessary damage in the 7th inning scoring 3 runs on 2 base
hits. Alvarez led off and he doubled. Cal Raleigh was next and he drew a
walk. Eugenio Suarez then drew a walk to load the bases. Jake Burger was
next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. Ronald Acuna came up to bat and
hit a sacrifice fly scoring a run. Michael Helman kept the inning going and
tripled accounting for two more runs. Chicago had a chance to come back in
the 9th but they came up short.
The win went to Hogan Harris(3-3) who allowed no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
Josh Hader was credited with his 4th save. Cole Sulser(2-1) was given the
loss in relief.
