Designated hitter George Springer homered and had 3 RBI at Leones Field as the
Caracas Leones staged a comeback win over the Illinois Patriots by the count
of 6 to 5.
Caracas had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning plating 3
runs. After an out was recorded, Tyler Stephenson started the attack as he
drew a walk. Bryce Harper followed and he drew a walk. Springer then lost
the ball over the fence for three runs making Caracas the victors to the
delight of the home town faithful. The teams had been locked in a scoreless
duel until the 7th inning.
Emmanuel Clase(2-0) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the win. Brant
Hurter(3-4) was hit with the loss in relief. He surrendered 3 runs and 2
hits in 2/3 of an inning.
