Bryson Stott had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Hollywood Marines staged a
dramatic comeback over the Palatine Cubs by a score of 7 to 6 at Comerica
Park.
Hollywood came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning plating 2 runs on 2
hits. Pete Alonso led off and started the rally when he drew a walk. Isaac
Paredes followed, but he was set down on strikes. Cody Bellinger struck out,
unable to help the rally. A balk was called. Austin Riley came to the plate
and laced a single knocking in a run. A balk was called. Trevor Larnach
came to the plate and drew a walk. Brandon Nimmo then lashed a one-base hit
resulting in an exciting win for Hollywood and a raucous post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Hollywood had 13 hits for the game and
Palatine had 9.
Will Vest(1-0) allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning, and picked up the victory.
Tyler Kinley(3-3) was the loser in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning
