In a thriller the Aarlington Aardvarks staged a dramatic comeback then held on
to win over the Texas Flood by a score of 3 to 2 at Lawton
Stadium.
Aarlington had the winning rally in the top of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs
using 4 hits. After an out was recorded, Carlos Santana jump-started the
rally as he laced a base-knock. Jung Hoo Lee stepped up next and he ripped a
base-hit. Eli White got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Elly
De La Cruz stepped in and he slapped a one-base hit to load the bases. Brice
Turang came up to bat and singled knocking home two runners. Turang took
second on the throw. Aarlington finished with 9 hits while Texas ended up
with 5.
Brent Suter(3-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings. Kyle
Leahy got the save, his 7th. Mitch Spence(1-3) was the loser in relief. His
ERA increased from 5.90 to 6.23 as he allowed 2 runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
'Steve Linke was estatic following the game, 'You love stealing one on the
road like this. We just kept plugging away until we pulled it out!'
