Spencer Steer had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Sutter Health Park where the
Streator Reds beat the Nimrod Numnuts by the score of 4 to 3.
 
Streator had 3 runs cross the plate in the top of the 5th inning.  The crucial
at-bat was provided by Steer who quieted the home crowd when he hit a single
which was good for two runs.  Nimrod tried unsuccessfully to come back in the
9th.  
 
Carlos Vargas(2-3) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Matt Brash
earned his 1st save.  Jeffrey Springs(8-5) was given the loss.  He pitched 4
and 2/3 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 4 walks.
 
'This was a tough loss,' said Mark Salzwedel, 'the kind that sticks with you
for awhile.'
