The Illinois Patriots won a dramatic crowd-pleaser over Burbank Tigers at
Truist Park pulling it out in their last at bats, 5 to 3.
Illinois erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
scoring 2 runs. After an out was recorded, Michael Busch keyed the rally
when he drew a walk. Sean Burke then fired a sharp breaking ball that
appeared to cross-up the catcher. In any event, it got by him and was ruled
a passed ball. Heliot Ramos then smashed a two-run homer making Illinois
victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Illinois banged out 8
hits on the night.
Kyle Finnegan(4-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Burke(4-2)
was tagged with the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 2 hits in 1
and 1/3 innings.
