Max Fried carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning as the Texas Flood bested
the ice-cold Streator Reds 3 to 1 at Streator Park.
Fried(3-6) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
Streator batters. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk
in 8 innings. The left-handed Fried lost his chance for a no-hitter when
Freddie Freeman homered with nobody out in the 7th inning. Jason Alexander
was perfect in relief and got the save, his 4th.
Chris Sale(3-5) was hit with the loss. He allowed 3 runs and 6 hits in 6 and
2/3 innings.
