Trevor Story had 3 base hits and 3 RBI at Busch Stadium where the Tampico
Stogies beat the Illinois Patriots 9 to 2.
Illinois was unable to claim the lead after Tampico went ahead in the bottom
of the 2nd inning plating 3 runs using 3 hits. After two outs Jazz Chisholm
began the rally when he ripped a single. Ronny Mauricio next to the plate
and he laced a one-base hit. Story then doubled, and an error was also
committed, driving in three runs. That was all Hunter Brown(5-6) needed.
Illinois was out-hit by Tampico, 12 hits to 7.
Ryne Nelson(4-7) absorbed the loss. He gave up 6 runs and 8 hits in 6
innings. Tampico now has a record of a division leading 43-25. With this
loss, Illinois has a 7-3 record of late, 29-39 overall.
