Kyle Bradish whiffed 11 batters as the Tampico Stogies bested the Illinois
Patriots 9 to 0 at Busch Stadium.
Bradish(1-0) simply dominated Illinois. He was stingy on the mound, allowing
just 1 hit and 2 walks in 7 innings. Tampico finished with 11 hits while
Illinois ended up with 3.
The loss was charged to Shane Baz(4-4). He gave up 4 runs in 3 and 1/3
innings and saw his ERA jump from 5.03 to 5.30. Bradish was jubilant in the
hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out there. The fans gave me a lot
of support as did my teammates. We got the victory and I'll sure take 11
strikeouts anytime!'
