TEAM RISP- Numnuts: 5 for 11 Whales: 4 for 7
Gunnar Henderson had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Chicago Whales came back to win
one over Nimrod Numnuts, 8 to 7.
Chicago came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning plating
2 runs on 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Angel Martinez initiated
the scoring spurt when he drew a walk. Geraldo Perdomo was next and he
tripled knocking in a run. Henderson then smacked a single making Chicago
the winners and sending the 9,465 fans home happy. A wild and woolly affair,
this game saw the lead change 5 times.
The winning pitcher was Pete Fairbanks(3-4) who allowed 2 runs in 1 inning.
The loss was charged to Daniel Palencia(1-2) in relief. He surrendered 1 run
and 2 hits without retiring a batter.
Chicago extended their winning streak to 6 games. Rich Domovic was happy with
his team's performance of late - 'They're playing solid ball right now' he
said. 'Let's hope they can stay focused.'
