First baseman Josh Naylor had 2 base hits at West Side Park where the Tampico
Stogies beat the Chicago Whales 5 to 3.
The game started off with Tampico taking the lead in the first when they
scored 2 runs on 2 hits. Chicago threatened in the 9th but Tampico was able
to put down the rally.
The winning pitcher was Trevor Rogers(2-1) who allowed no runs in 6 innings.
Rogers was helped out by Aroldis Chapman who recorded his 19th save. The
losing pitcher was Nick Martinez(3-6). He allowed 5 runs and 8 hits in 5 and
1/3 innings.
Rich Domovic was subdued when questioned after the game, 'Sure, this kind of
loss takes a while to get over, but heck, we're all professionals. We've
been through this many times - it's the nature of the game. We'll be fine -
as for me - I'll be ready to go again tomorrow!'
