Alex Bregman jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI as the Illinois
Patriots defeated the Palatine Cubs by the score of 9 to 5 at Truist
Park.
Illinois scored 5 runs in the decisive bottom of the 4th inning. The biggest
moment was provided by Jesus Sanchez who electrified Truist Park when he
launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun. Illinois
and Palatine each finished the night with 10 hits.
The win was credited to Shane Smith(2-6) who went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 3
runs. Hunter Greene(4-2) ended up with the loss. He gave up 5 runs in 3 and
2/3 innings of work.
Illinois continued their winnings ways improving their record to 23-36. They
are 9-1 in their last ten games. With the loss Palatine now has a record of
31-28.
