WEB GEMS- Top 2nd: Andres Gimenez robbed William Contreras of a base hit.
Bot 8th: Jake Meyers robbed Geraldo Perdomo of an extra base hit.
In a close game it was the Chicago Whales 9, the Tampico Stogies 7 at West
Side Park.
Spencer Bivens(3-1) pitched good enough to get the victory in relief. He went
2 and 2/3 innings and surrended up 7 hits and no walks. Tampico had a chance
in the 9th but they came up short.
The loss was charged to Brennan Bernardino(2-2) in relief. He surrendered 4
runs without retiring a batter and saw his ERA increase from 1.54 to 3.09.
Mike Aldrich was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It is really
hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but it is
easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just barely
get away that hurt so much - like this one!'
