The smoking-hot Illinois Patriots won a dramatic crowd-pleaser over Palatine
Cubs at Truist Park pulling it out in their last at bats, 4 to 3.
The deciding run was scored by Illinois in the 9th. Jonathan India drew a
walk. Tyler Soderstrom followed next and he doubled. Alek Thomas then
worked the squeeze play to perfection resulting in an exciting win for
Illinois and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Illinois
rapped out 7 hits for the night.
Brant Hurter(1-3) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Anthony
Banda(0-2) ended up with the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and 1 walk
