The blistering-hot Tombstone Huckleberries broke the deadlock in their last at
bats, pulling out a 4 to 3 win over the Vernon Hillbillies and sending their
hometown fans home smiling.
The game was won by Tombstone when they scored a run in the bottom of the 9th
inning. Zach Neto slapped a one-base hit. Randy Arozarena stepped into the
batter's box and he banged out a single. Arozarena took second on the throw.
Matt Olson followed, but he was set down on strikes. Dominic Canzone
stepped in and he ripped a base-knock making Tombstone the winners and
sending the 52,660 fans home happy. Tombstone managed 11 hits in their
victory.
Robert Suarez(4-1) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Reid
Detmers(1-2) ended up with the loss in relief. With the win, Tombstone
continued their winning ways; their streak now stands at 7 games and
counting.
