The New York The Yanks came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil the
anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,, was 3 to
2.
New York came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning plating 3
runs utilizing 4 base hits. Jorge Polanco led off and got things going when
he doubled. One out later, Cam Smith stepped in and he hit a deep fly which
brought home a run. Mauricio Dubon then banged out a single. Steven Kwan
was up next and he cleared the fences for a two-run home run. Cade Smith
pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 7th save.
The victory was credited to Tyler Rogers(3-2) who went 2/3 of an inning,
allowing no runs. Ben Brown(0-3) was the losing pitcher in relief.
'The only way this one could have been better', said Rogers, 'was if we had
played it at home.'
