Illinois started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first scoring 3 runs on 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Heliot
Ramos initiated the scoring spurt when he was hit by a pitch. Michael Busch
next to the plate and he drew a walk. One out later, Yainer Diaz then ripped
a one-base hit bringing in a run. Diaz took second on the throw. McKinstry
was up next and he lined a single which accounted for two additional runs.
McKinstry took second on the throw. Illinois managed 9 hits in their
victory.
