Riley Greene smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Texas Flood topped the
Chicago Whales by a score of 5 to 3 at West Side Park.
Greene led the offense for Texas. He clubbed a two-run home run in the 4th
inning and hit a bases-empty home run in the 6th inning. Chicago threatened
in the 9th but Texas was able to put down the rally.
Bailey Ober(1-1) got the win allowing 3 runs in 6 innings. Ober got help from
Jason Alexander who was credited with his 2nd save. The losing pitcher was
Nick Martinez(3-4). By surrending 4 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings his ERA jumped
from 3.88 to 4.15.
Greg Edens was beaming after the game, 'Not only were we making good contact,
but a lot of balls we hit seemed to have 'eyes'! I just love winning these
tight ones! It was just our evening - no doubt about it!'
