In a startling finish the Dyersville Jurassics staged a comeback then held on
to win over the Gotham Gold Gloves by a score of 3 to 2 at Edsel
Stadium.
Dyersville had the game winning rally in the 9th inning plating 3 runs
utilizing 2 base hits. Maikel Garcia started the inning off right when he
doubled. Yandy Diaz stepped into the batter's box and he drew a walk. After
an out was recorded, Julio Rodriguez then tripled plating two runs. Hunter
Goodman was up next and he hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the
inning. Dyersville managed only 3 hits on the night.
The winning pitcher was Ian Seymour(1-1) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Seymour got relief help from Mason Miller who gained credit for his 7th save.
Raisel Iglesias(2-2) was hit with the loss in relief.
After the game, it took a long while before Mike Wilson emerged from his
office. In a subdued tone he answered only a couple of questions. He
concluded with, 'Fellows, sorry I'm not in a very talkative mood tonight, as
I think you'll understand. I'm sure you'll find the banter a lot more
light-hearted over in the Dyersville locker room.'
