Reese McGuire cracked a homer and had 2 RBI at Truist Park where the Hollywood
Marines beat the Illinois Patriots 6 to 4.
In the 6th inning Hollywood scored 2 runs. McGuire began things off when he
blasted a solo shot. Isaac Paredes was a strikeout victim, unable to help
out. Cody Bellinger then clubbed a solo home run. Hollywood finished with
10 hits in the victory.
Jesus Luzardo(3-1) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 6 innings.
Anthony Bender preserved the game for Luzardo, recording his his 6th save.
Dylan Lee(0-3) was hit with the loss in relief. Despite the loss, he
struckout 5 Hollywood batters in 2 innings.
Hollywood remained hot, improving their record to a division leading 24-15.
They now have a record of 8-2 in recent days. Illinois has been sputtering
along lately and are 2-8 lately and 11-28, worst in the division on the year.
