Pete Alonso rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Hollywood Marines bested
the Illinois Patriots 8 to 2 at Truist Park.
Alonso had a big day against Illinois. He popped a two-run clout over the
fence in the 1st inning, slapped a base-hit in the 3rd inning, doubled in the
5th inning and hit a bases-empty home run in the 7th inning. For the game
Hollywood out-hit Illinois 13 to 5.
The winning pitcher was Merrill Kelly(2-5) who allowed 1 run in 6 innings.
Ryne Nelson(2-5) suffered the loss. Hollywood knocked him around a bit, as
he gave up 7 runs in 5 innings.
'Everything seemed to click tonight,' Alonso said 'if it could only be this
easy all the time!'
