One run was the difference at Leones Field as the Caracas Leones defeated the
New York The Yanks in 10 innings 2 to 1.
Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings. Caracas won the hard
fought contest in the 10th inning. Manny Machado drew a walk. Tyler
Stephenson was the next batter, but he struck out. Derek Hill then doubled
giving Caracas the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Both
teams ended up with 6 hits on the night.
The win was credited to Kenley Jansen(1-2) who went 3 and 1/3 innings allowing
no runs. Luke Weaver(2-1) took the loss in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an
inning allowing 1 hit and 1 walk.
