Jacob Webb closed it out for Illinois and Alek Thomas blasted a homerun and
had 3 RBI at Sutter Health Park where the Illinois Patriots beat the Nimrod
Numnuts 7 to 6.
The game was won by Illinois with a run in the 8th inning. After two were out
Thomas stroked a one-base hit. Santiago Espinal followed and he doubled
scoring the run. A wild and woolly affair, this game saw the lead change 5
times.
The victory went to Kyle Finnegan(2-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Finnegan got help from Webb who was credited with his 3rd save. The
losing pitcher was Alex Vesia(1-3) in relief.
With this win, Illinois has a 11-25 record. They have been 3-7 lately. With
the loss, the Nimrod ballclub's record is 21-15.
