One run was the difference at Streator Park as the New York The Yanks defeated
the Streator Reds 5 to 4.
New York scored the deciding run in the top of the 8th inning. Mickey Moniak
laced a one-base hit. Carlos Vargas then let one slip out of his hand for a
wild pitch. After an out was recorded, Patrick Bailey then delivered a
single scoring the run. New York had 10 hits overall, while Streator had 7.
Cade Smith(1-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 and 1/3 innings and
allowing no runs. Vargas(1-1) was the loser in relief.
The New York ballclub's record now stands at 20-16. Streator has a record of
16-20, worst in the division after the loss.
