Anthony Volpe smashed 2 homeruns as the Palatine Cubs beat the Aarlington
Aardvarks by a score of 4 to 3.
The game was decided in the top of the 8th inning. Nathaniel Lowe lashed a
single. After an out was recorded, Volpe came up and he hit a bases-empty
home run. Aarlington tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
The win went to Tyler Kinley(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Camilo Doval got the save, his 5th. Tanner Banks(0-1) was the loser in
relief.
'Just one or two mistakes were all it took to beat us tonight' Steve Linke
said. 'We take these games one day at a time, but this one was hard to
take.'
