Chandler Simpson had 2 base hits as the Palatine Cubs outscored the Woodfield
Roadkyll 5 to 4.
Palatine erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 8th inning
scoring 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Simpson
jump-started the rally as he lined a single. Pete Crow-Armstrong was a
strikeout victim, unable to help out. Simpson stole second with some
aggressive base running. Palatine continued their aggressive style with
another stolen base. Kyle Schwarber came up to bat and smashed a two-run
homer. Palatine managed 7 hits in their victory.
The win went to Daniel Coulombe(2-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Ronny
Henriquez(0-2) ended up with the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and
no walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.
