In an great finish the Streator Reds won in dramatic fashion over the Borculo
Bumble Bees by a score of 4 to 3 at Streator Park.
Streator scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2 runs
on 2 hits. Jeremy Pena led off and started the rally when he laced a
base-knock. Spencer Steer came next and he clubbed a two-run home run making
Streator victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Streator had
a total of 10 hits for the game.
Keegan Akin(1-1) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. The loss was
charged to Ryan Walker(0-2) in relief. Akin and Pena were really whooping it
up in the clubhouse after the great come from behind victory. As Ralph
Madara noted, 'A win like this one can do wonders for a team's attitude.'
Everyone shares in the joy - the fans, the players - even you guys - it's
better than winning by a dozen runs!'
