Brandon Nimmo hit a homerun as the Hollywood Marines staged a dramatic
comeback over the Burbank Tigers by a score of 7 to 6 at Comerica
Park.
Hollywood came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning with 3 runs
utilizing 4 base hits. Nimmo started the scoring when he clubbed a solo home
run. After an out was recorded, Bryson Stott stepped up to the plate and he
slapped a single. Nick Kurtz then singled. Pete Alonso got his turn next,
but he was a strikeout victim. Reese McGuire came up to bat and drew a walk
to load the bases. Romy Gonzalez kept things alive and doubled resulting in
an exciting win for Hollywood and a wild post-game celebration by the home
town fans. Hollywood ended up with 15 hits for the game while Burbank had 7.
Abner Uribe(2-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Jack
Dreyer(1-1) suffered the loss in relief. He gave up 2 hits and 1 walk in 1/3
of an inning.
'That was exciting!,' Nimmo said. 'I would have paid money to watch this
one.'
