The Palatine Cubs had very little trouble at West Side Park downing the
Chicago Whales. The score was 7 to 2.
In the 4th inning Palatine scored 5 runs when they came up with 6 base hits.
The highlight belonged to Royce Lewis who deflated the crowd as he emptied
the bases with a Grand Slam homerun. Palatine finished with 11 hits in the
victory.
Mackenzie Gore(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Dean Kremer(0-1) was the losing pitcher. Palatine scored
big getting 5 runs off him in 3 innings.
