Kyle Higashioka blasted 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the Borculo Bumble Bees
topped the ice-cold Vernon Hillbillies by a score of 11 to 7 at Billy Bee
Honey Park.
Higashioka was spectacular at the plate. He tripled scoring two baserunners
in the 4th inning, rifled a three-run blast in the 6th inning and smashed a
bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 8th inning. Borculo had 13 hits for the night.
Sean Manaea(1-0) went 3 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. The loss
was charged to Patrick Corbin(0-3). He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits and 2
walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
Higashioka was in a good mood after the game, 'I'm just seeing and hitting the
ball real well now. I made some adjustments last week and they are paying
off. That's what this game is about. making adjustments as the season goes
along.'
