The Burbank Tigers edged the Nimrod Numnuts at Burbank Park by the score of 4
to 3.
Burbank came up with the deciding runs in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs
utilizing 2 base hits. Ketel Marte led off and started the attack as he
banged out a single. Ryan O'Hearn next to the plate and he drew a walk. One
out later, Bryan Reynolds was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Brent
Rooker followed and he lost the ball over the fence for three runs. Both
teams totaled 6 hits on the night.
Lucas Giolito(1-0) allowed 3 runs in 8 innings, and picked up the victory.
Giolito got help from Mike Vasil who earned his 1st save. Jason Adam(0-3)
was tagged with the loss in relief. By giving up 3 runs in 1 inning his ERA
increased from 3.00 to 9.00.
