Garrett Crochet mowed down 11 Vernon batters at Leones Field as the Caracas
Leones embarrassed the reeling Vernon Hillbillies by the lopsided score of 11
to 0.
Crochet(2-0) was tremendous on the mound for Caracas. He didn't allow much,
just 5 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. For the game Caracas out-hit Vernon 15
to 6.
The losing pitcher was Will Warren(0-2). He was touched for 3 homeruns in his
2 innings of work. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Crochet -
except Vernon. John Stryker lamented, 'He just was 'on' tonight. He was
keeping our guys off balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout
pitcher - makes it a fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were
the visitors!'
