In a thrilling finish the Palatine Cubs won in dramatic fashion coming back to
beat the Dyersville Jurassics by the count of 3 to 2.
Palatine came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs.
After two were out Evan Carter kicked off the action when he drew a walk.
Kyle Schwarber came next and he cleared the fences for a two-run home run
giving Palatine the victory and sending the 18,335 home-town fans home happy.
Palatine had only 5 hits for the night.
The victory went to Greg Weissert(1-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
Carlos Estevez(0-1) suffered the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and 1
walk without retiring a batter.
'Now that is what I call fun! I just love baseball, especially games like
this, of course,' Tony Calabrese offered. 'Everyone at the stadium had a
great time - did you see the fans go wild there at the end?!'
