Ronel Blanco(12-3) thrilled the fans at Streator Park as he crafted a no-hit
masterpiece against the Streator Reds. The Texas Flood won by a final score
of 17 to 0.
Although disappointed to see the hometown team lose, the fans certainly were
appropriately impressed with the dominating, no-hit performance of Blanco.
He walked 4 Streator batters. What an evening for the fans. They were on
the edge of their seats from the 7th inning on. With every out, the
electricity in the air mounted. Texas bats were very productive in the 9th
inning when they had 9 runs on 8 hits. Texas rapped out 20 hits for the
night.
Chris Paddack(2-7) was the loser. He surrended 4 homeruns in his 9 innings.
'Blanco made us look bad' Ralph Madara said. 'I've seen a lot of good
performances in my time and this one will be tucked away in my memory bank
for a long time to come'
